Under the direction of the hospital administration, the Daycare Director will be responsible for facilitating the day to day operations of the Daycare Center. The Director will monitor and ensure safety and program guidelines. Coordinate Center employee schedules and oversee current licensing and certificates. Provide a safe, happy and positive environment for all children.
Knowledge of State and/or Federal programs, preparation of a variety of reports, correspondence, appropriate to assignment, current principles and practices of early childhood education in a play-based, family centered program, current classroom ratio requirements, family inclusion and education, reading, interpreting and applying complex codes and regulations, developing, implementing and maintaining policies, procedures, standards and handbooks and computer skills, record keeping skills.
Possess a current Child Development Program Director Permit or willing to obtain one 30 days prior to center opening. Current California driver’s license and 15 hours of state approved health & safety training with a current CPR/1st Aid Certificate. Desirable Qualifications: Master’s Degree in ECE/CD or Child/Human Development, Previous experience as a Child Development Center Director, previous Toddler/Preschool teaching experience. Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic and socio-economic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students and staff. Preferred Experience: 2+ Years’ experience directing a daycare center.
