Lassen Municipal Utility District (“LMUD”) has an opening for a 2nd-year or 3rd-year Apprentice Lineman, described as follows in the current MOU between the District and IBEW:
“An employee who performs work as an assistant to, or under the general direction of, a Lineman while training for Journeyman Lineman status. May be required to work alone on jobs for which the employee has been trained or instructed. Education and general qualifications must be such that the employee is capable of attaining Journeyman status. Must possess a valid State Class A Drivers’ License within 12 months of appointment.”
This position will work as part of a crew to construct and maintain overhead and underground distribution and transmission systems from 2,400 to 60,000 volts. The successful candidate will be placed into the District’s 3-year Apprentice Lineman Program at the appropriate level, depending on experience, which entails on-the-job and outside training, as well as workbook assignments. The position requires the ability to work at any height and in any weather conditions and perform overtime and emergency work. Ability to interact with the public and work with fellow employees also required.
